Resident requirements
While Milepost 5 is intentional in its mission to create a community for creatives, we select residents regardless of race, religion, color, sex, marital status, familial status, national origin, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or source of income.
Basic Requirements of Residents to purchase a unit at Milepost 5:
- Interest in and ability to contribute to the community
- 50 hours per year of community service
- Financial wherewithal
Financial wherewithal is defined as:
- Ability to secure a mortgage commitment (pre-qualification from a lender) for no less than the unit(s) price(s) for which one applies
- Having income sufficient to pay obligations and housing costs
- An understanding of owner rights under a limited equity condominium, demonstrated by attendance at a Milepost 5 homebuyer orientation class and a signed acknowledgement
- Satisfactory rental and/or ownership history
- If a first-time homebuyer, attendance at a homebuyer education class
After all units have been purchased, the residents—through their condominium association—will be part of continuing or modifying the process for selecting qualified creatives as units re-sell.
