Community

Milepost 5 provides affordable and sustainable live/work spaces for artists of all disciplines in a supportive and interactive, community setting. The comprehensive, campus facilities provide the rare opportunity for artists and creatives either to rent or own studio/live space.

Milepost 5’s mission is to provide a long-term artistic and economic sanctuary to support and sustain working artists and their art. Milepost 5 is dedicated to building and enhancing the arts community on its campus, in the City of Portland, and throughout the Northwest region by serving as a hub of activity and connectivity.

At Milepost 5, artists will shape this organic endeavor by owning or renting space in which to live, work and create. By teaming non-profit and for profit developers, Milepost 5 offers a new model in sustainability, where artists and creatives will always have a home. This unique community will serve residents and tenants of Milepost 5, as well as the arts community at large by providing programming space for performance, visual arts, lectures, workshops, meeting spaces, and living and studio space.
